Taiyangtang's sun cakes are truly authentic! The outer crust is so flaky it crumbles, and the brown sugar filling is incredibly fragrant, with a perfectly balanced sweetness that doesn't stick to your teeth. A box of 12 is beautifully packaged, and paired with a cup of hot tea, it makes for the perfect afternoon tea.
I first discovered this sun cake at 99 Ranch Market. This time, when I bought it again, I found that the price at Weee was cheaper. The brown sugar one is the best and also the one that best soothes my homesickness.

Baked at a low temperature for two minutes, the crust is thin and crispy, while the filling is soft and sweet—very delicious. There are only five small pieces; I placed an AirPods next to them as a scale. They're quite expensive, so I won't repurchase them for now. I'll try other brands later.

I usually enjoy pineapple cakes (fengliusu). This is my first time trying this brand, but the perfect balance of softness and butteriness suits my taste well. Sometimes when I buy cheap products, something—I can't tell if it's butter or oil—lingers in my mouth, leaving an unpleasant, slippery feeling, but Isabelle pineapple cakes don't have any of that. They aren't too sweet, so they are perfect to enjoy with coffee or tea.
