First, the shape: the gold medal pieces are closer to the flat oval shape of xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), while the basket pieces are too pointed and don't cook through easily; the top is also slightly sticky. Both have a 1/3 breakage rate, the same for both. As for the taste: the gold medal pieces immediately evoke the flavor of Yu Garden (a famous traditional Chinese restaurant), a perfect score! The basket pieces tasted great two years ago, but later developed a strong ginger flavor, and even after six months, the ginger flavor is still very strong. The meat is also reddish in color. I won't repurchase them.
