It’s okay, almost not salty, almost not spicy, with a light aroma of chili oil. It’s much better than the Zhuangyuan brand bamboo shoots, which are also produced in Taiwan.

This is one of my absolute favorites; it's the kind of porridge you get at a Taiwanese hotel's buffet for breakfast.
